This is from the late 1950's family footage- shows hoover dam, aproaching vegas and seeing the billboards, plus a driveby of all the famous clubs - the stardust, algiers, flamingo, dunes, etc. All to a modern Depeche Mode techno brit soundtrack. Check out the vintage cars in the lots!!!

It's sad, these classic casinos icons, blown to hell for billion dollar mega-resorts. 35-40MPH+ on the LV Blvd, a memory too.
The old Stardust, Flamingo especially-with no towers. They actually have these 2, 3 level Motels with the same name, same bright /Vegas meets Miami Beach look in Wildwood NJ..and that town wants to level THOSE for tacky boring condos. Gets to me..

The footage is awesome but the music is totally unfitting. Also could've done without the screwy transition effects. Very nice video on mute though =)

This is when Vegas was Vegas. It's obvious that Las Vegas has no historical society because they would've been out trying to save some of these old casinos and hotels. Even one of the last 1950's hotels we used to stay at was just recently leveled.

The first time I went to vegas was in 92' and I had wondered what vintage vegas was like.

I'm 18 born and raised in vegas... I wish I could have grown up here in the 50's sooo bad. I loved hearing my grandparents talk about vegas back then.
